Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
That may seem like a strange way to begin the January newsletter, but it is actually still the Christmas Season! Epiphany is January 6, and that is the twelfth day of Christmas (which we will celebrate on Wednesday January 8) which wraps up the Christmas season.
As a part of the Christmas celebration, we have been giving Star Words to all who attend the Epiphany service. The Star Words make for a fun way to focus our prayer or devotional time on the word that you select at random. The challenge of the star words for me is that they help me remember that instead of new year’s resolutions we can choose to focus on the ways God continues to call us to live in ways that reflect Christ love in the world by practicing and modeling Christ’s ways for the people we meet out and about every day.
The Epiphany Party is going to be Wednesday, January 8, 2025. We are having Pizza House pizza for dinner at 5:30 (so let us know that you are going to be there), and will have a brief worship service that will include choosing a star word at 6:30, and after worship we will put away all of the advent and Christmas decorations.
Can’t wait to see you!
Chris
